As I age, I’m more cognizant of my limitations. No matter how much I learn, it’s only a fraction of any given topic. No matter how many places I’ve visited, it’s just a fraction of the world’s beauty. This observation doesn’t come from discouragement but from humility. We’re all limited in our resources. There are only so many hours in the day.

Some days, we may not maximize our potential. On other days, we don’t have the energy to learn new truths and explore new paths. I’m realizing that once in a while, I need to stop and smell the roses. A need to pause and focus on what is truly meaningful.
Photography is yet another endless learning curve. Creativity has no bounds. I revere the talent of top photographers as inspiration for my journey. I’m a fan as much as a competitor. Witnessing talent as it unfolds makes me better. Even if I never reach their heights, I will not stop climbing.
