Watermark Placement Rules

• The watermark should blend with the composition and not fall outside the luminosity of the image’s color palette.
• Watermark should be outside the imaginary rectangle of the model’s bounds (if possible).
• The watermark should not appear on the side the model is looking at (if possible).
• Watermark should not be placed on complicated textures (if possible), so that it’s legible.
• Fill should be set so the watermark is visible but doesn’t distract from the model.
• Default blending modes: a. Soft Light for light versions, b. Subtract for dark versions, c. Normal mode if Soft Light is too dark, and d. Layer Blending using Color Overlay and picking a color from the image.
• Vertical placements should be rotated counterclockwise so that the logo can be read from the right edge.
• Vertically placed watermarks should not exceed ⅙ the height of a portrait image, or ⅕ the height in landscape.
• Horizontally placed watermarks should not exceed ⅙ the width of a landscape image, or ⅕ the width in portrait.
• The watermark should be placed off an edge, with a breathable border so it’s visible but not intrusive.
