֍ Events ֍ Pride Parade ’25 • Amsterdam, Netherlands

Last year I stubbled upon the Amsterdam Pride Parade by accident, and still managed to capture some great images. This year I decided to arrive prepared with fliers in advance, and planning a walking photoshoot from where the boats departed through the entire length of the parade.

When I first arrived I was only getting a 50% success rate of willing models, so I needed to make a few adjustments. Approaching a couple of women preparing for the event, I asked if they could paint rainbow colors onto my cheeks. I was no longer an old guy with a camera. Now I was an old guy with rainbows on my cheeks, with a camera! From then on I had a 90% success rate models willing to have their photo taken. 🌈 Twenty six kilometers and five hours later I captures these great images. Over half a million spectators attend the annual Pride Amsterdam Canal Parade this year.
